Anders W. Lindberg is an associate in the Huntington office of Steptoe & Johnson. Mr. Lindberg focuses his law practice in the areas of professional liability defense, employment litigation and general litigation. Mr. Lindberg has successfully tried cases in both state and federal courts. He has handled numerous medical professional liability cases, complex litigation involving employment disputes and has represented several local businesses as well as international corporations.

Medical Professional Liability
The defense of physicians and hospitals across West Virginia is a major portion of Mr. Lindberg’s practice. He has represented clients in a variety of medical specialties and has defended claims ranging from birth injury to stroke, as well as a number of surgical complications. Mr. Lindberg has defended both large and small hospitals, nursing homes, solo practitioners as well as practice groups. He has also lectured at continuing legal education seminars on medical malpractice avoidance strategies and documentation issues. Mr. Lindberg is the author of the 2006 and the 2007 West Virginia Practice Handbook, Medical Malpractice in West Virginia, Applicability of the Medical Professional Liability Act.
Employment Law
Mr. Lindberg represents employers in employment disputes in state court, federal court, the National Labor Relations Board and before the West Virginia Human Rights Commission.
Long Term Care Law
Mr. Lindberg has experience defending Long Term Care facilities. He has litigated claims ranging from pressure ulcers and falls to issues related to nutrition.
Insurance Law
Mr. Lindberg represents insurance companies in first party "bad faith" claims.
General Litigation
The remainder of Mr. Lindberg's practice is devoted to the defense of individuals and corporations in personal injury litigation.
PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC ASSOCIATIONS
Mr. Lindberg is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, as well as West Virginia's state courts. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. He is a member of the American, West Virginia and Cabell County Bar Associations. He is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the West Virginia State Bar's Young Lawyer Section. Mr. Lindberg is the past President of the West Virginia Bar Association, Young Lawyer Division and a former member of the West Virginia Bar Association’s Executive Council. He is a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Lindberg also serves several local charitable organizations as well as being a member of the local Chamber of Commerce.
EDUCATION
Mr. Lindberg graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University where he was a Presidential and a Herndon Scholar. While at Marshall University he received numerous academic awards including being named the "Student of the Year" by the Psychology Department. Prior to law school, he studied politics at Oxford University in England. He received his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law. While at the West Virginia University College of Law, Mr. Lindberg was awarded a position on the Moot Court Board in recognition of his appellate advocacy skills. He was also selected for the Jessup International Moot Court team and the Marlyn E. Lugar Trial Association. Mr. Lindberg is also a graduate of The National Trial College at the University of Virginia.
