Check presentation to be held April 1st
On Tuesday, April 1, 2008, Susan Brewer, managing member of the Morgantown office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, will present the law firm’s contribution of $4,000 to Arts Monongahela in support of the Cyndi Jones Impact Grants program.
The check presentation, scheduled for 9:30 am at the Arts Mon Building, will occur in conjunction with the 21st annual Arts Advocacy Day, which is the only national event that brings together a broad cross section of America’s cultural and civic organizations, along with hundreds of grassroots advocates from across the nation, to underscore the importance of developing increased funding for the arts.
Donations earmarked for the Steptoe & Johnson-Cyndi Jones Impact Grants Program generated $12,000 in grant money, which will be awarded to artists, schools, and service organizations located in North Central West Virginia. A reception honoring grantees will be held on April 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Arts Monongahela Gallery, located on High Street in Morgantown. As part of the evening’s festivities, the late Cyndi Jones, a former partner at Steptoe & Johnson will be remembered and honored for her own contributions to the firm and Arts Monongahela.
